Routing Protocols

There are two types of routing protocols

1. Interior Gateway Protocol (IGP)
2. Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP)

For Interior Gateway Protocol there are

• Internet Gateway Routing Protocol (IGRP)
• Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP)
• Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
• Routing Information Protocol (RIP)
• Intermediate System - Intermediate System (IS - IS)

For Exterior Gateway Protocol there are

• Exterior Gateway Protocol (EGP)
• Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
